Head of Service

I joined LCS in 2012, and have loved it ever since! Prior to joining LCS I was a Zoo Keeper. Whilst working in my previous role I was running a project called “mini crew”, this was set up for those young people (YP) who were struggling or excluded from school in mainstream education. The project allowed YP to learn new skills and assist them to focus on their future purpose. I started work at LCS in 2012 and my main role was working within

the education department supporting YP who had been in touch with the Youth Offending Service or NEET (Not in Education or Training) who might be suffering with mental health concerns, drugs and alcohol and/or victims of crime.

In 2013 I then moved department within LCS and started to work with care leavers aged 16 to 21, this included shift working, outreach work and working within bespoke (High Risk placements). I took a year’s break in 2016 to work for a charity as a Leaving Care Personal Advisor, this was brilliant as it allowed me to understand the Local Authority pressures, but also allowed me to support YP in maintaining post 18 accommodation, education and employment.

In 2017 I re-joined LCS as Senior Operations Manager, this was after the company had a restructure and started to build on shared houses for care leavers. I absolutely love my current role as Senior Operations Manager, it’s incredible watching Young People grow into confident and resilient individuals.

Fun Fact: I took a challenge to cycle to France, 375 miles in two days... Never again, I was not able to move for 6 months!

I joined LCS in 2010 and was excited to join the team as an Outreach Worker. After some time in the outreach field I moved over to management and have continued to build and develop the programmes that LCS offer.

My whole career has been about supporting young people; I have worked within local authorities, a pupil referral unit and then LCS. I love what I do and my passion for supporting young people and helping them to achieve their full potential is what drives me to succeed.

Fun Fact: In my youth I played Hockey for England!
